The Department of Mathematics focuses to assist students in acquiring a conceptual understanding of mathematics, its processes and applications. The department is to orient the aspiring students for an overall development to enable them to meet the ever growing challenges of the global society with mathematical tools. Mission of the department is to promote quality education, training, research and to enhance employability skills of our students.
Today the department run its own B. Sc. (Hons.), M.Sc. and Ph.D. programmes in Pure and Applied Mathematics. The department is also focused to aware the students about importance and increasing needs of mathematics in various areas of science and technology. To keep the students abreast of the latest developments, the department keeps on updating its teaching and research methodology programmes and introduces new courses, which are aligned with the need to tackle real life challenging problems in science and technology. All faculty members of the department are well qualified and hold Ph.D. degree with rich academic and research experience.

The FBAS offers programmes at UG, PG and Ph.D. levels. Most of the faculty members hold Ph.D. degree and are well recognized for their academic contribution in research journals at National and International levels. Each and every department plays a unique and distinguished role in academics and have earned a reputation among top universities in a short span of time.
Various programmes being run in the University are: B.Sc. Pass Course (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics); B.Sc. Honours (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Agriculture); M.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Agronomy); Ph.D. (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Agronomy); Certificate Course in Animal Health worker (Six months) and Advanced Certificate Course in Animal Health worker (one year).
