Social Initiatives & Responsibility

VGU Being a responsible University believes that it’s our responsibility to take care of our surroundings and environment. We are fully devoted to our mother nature. To reduce the carbon footprint we have planted more than 200+ trees across our campus. We are also working on solar plants and we have already implemented rainwater harvesting systems. We are also working with many NGOs and other social working bodies to do our bit for society. We also have a dedicated club of social workers to inspire our upcoming generation and get them indulged in the joy of giving back.

Social Events at VGU

Blood Donation Camps

The trust & its institution in partnership with various NGO’s such as Rotary Club, Lion’s Club, and social bodies like NCC, NSS & local hospitals do conduct multiple blood donation camps every year. Around 2000 units of blood are collected annually in this endeavor. This year HDFC Bank, SMS Hospital, EHCC, Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, Swastha Kalyan joined hands for this noble cause.
Today greenery is a major concern across the globe. With industrialization & township spreading all over, the re-plantation of trees has become a compulsory activity to protect the environment. The trust with its associate institutions has taken a mission to make Rajasthan greener. In the purview of the same initiative, we plant around 5000 saplings every year all across the state. The survival ratio of saplings is around 60% beyond 5 years.

Swaruchi Kendra

At Swaruchi Kendra, our students and faculty members in the evening teach and assist underprivileged children to gain knowledge. We focus not only in academics of the kids but also on Public speaking, yoga, dancing, sports, theatre for their holistic development.

Marathon of Women's Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Marathon was organized with the help of nine at our campus. Almost 1500 students took participation in the Run. The purpose of this marathon was to make society aware of the health of women.

Aashram Visit

Every year On 1 st Sep, we celebrate the birthday of our founder day with the kids of Asha Tirth Ashram. We play different games & chanted prayers with them. Gifts & Chocolates and food is distributed to Ashram kids.

Food donation drive

VGU Always setp forward to help those who are in need. regular food donation drives is a culture at VGU, in which all students participate volunteery.
During COVID 19 Lockdown VGU arranged food for thousand of needy peoples.

Bagaria Education Trust CSR Activity

CSR activities and funding: 

BET is deeply involved in making social impact & changing lives of the people. Some of the projects undertaken by BET apart from regular education includes:

  1. Skill Training BET & its institutions have implemented various funded & non-funded skill development programs in the state of Rajasthan. The trust is registered with Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), Ministry of Rural Development (MORD) and AICTE for providing various skill based programs which includes training them & providing career-building placement opportunities. Currently, we have 1000+ students enrolled under multiple schemes for the same. Recently, BET has been received Skill Development project that is sponsored by govt. of India by the name of DDU-GKY in the state of Rajasthan and Jharkhand. In Rajasthan (Bikaner) our target is to train 380 students and in Jharkhand (Bokaro) our target is to train 500 students.

               

  1. Scholarship Scheme BET with the help of corporate and its own fund provides financial assistance to needy & meritorious students. Focus remains on educating rural girl child & to ensure that she completes her education without any financial hazel. In the present time, there are 75 odd girls who are being provided free education under this scheme.
  • Gramothan (Village Development) Under this programme, the donor’s (individual or corporate) money is utilized by the trust & its associate institutions by adopting a village & setting up any kind of basic amenities needed for the day-to-day activities of the villagers. We also run free educational camps where our faculty & students take classes on the basic subjects like computer education. Basic amenities like clothes, stationery, solar charged bulbs etc are even distributed to the needy students. We are also preparing a draft plan which includes renovation of facilities & digitalization of needy villages.
  1. Rural Technology Business Incubation We, as a trust, want to develop products which can ease life of the rural people. We have developed & commercialized an Alovera peeling machine at a very minimum cost. Regularly, we conduct training sessions for the farmers on such new technologies. We have been recently sanctioned a Rural Technology Business Incubator by DST, Govt. of Rajasthan. Our focus is on helping people with innovative idea & funding startups working in Agri & Rural Technologies. We have started incubating the startups also.
  2.   • Water & Soil Conservation –We all know that clean and healthy environment is very much necessary for our life. The trust is focused on one of the major issue affecting our environment i.e. conservation of water and soil. Trust with the help of team of specialist is dedicated to look after environment in total. Counselling the youths on importance of water and soil conservation, to complete implementation of projects on water and soil conservation trust has always tried to share its bit for the nature. Trust has a specialist team working on this domain.
  • Entrepreneurship Education- Our Motto is to make the students entrepreneurs. We are the empanelled Institution of PM Yuva Yojana under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. It’s an online course providing the knowledge of Opportunity Evaluation, Business Model, Business Plan, Finance, Marketing and Project to those who want to start their own venture. Every year, we organize Entrepreneurship awareness Camps and spread awareness to approx. 500 + students.
  1. Health Camp – The objective of conducting the health camp was to create awareness of general health among the people, provide general health care services and counseling them on basic healthcare and hygiene. Trust is focused for the same objective of conducting health camps. Trust with its team conducts regular health camps with the help of its team and  doctors who are always ready to help needy people and make them aware about basic healthcare and hygiene. These camps are conducted free of cost.
  1. Energy Efficiency-Ensuring Energy Efficiency (EE) is a low hanging fruit in India’s efforts to fulfil its commitment of reducing emissions and achieving the aim of making the path of economic growth and development more inclusive and sustainable. Considering that the adoption of energy efficient measures requires greater support from the end-users, it is important for them to have a clear understanding of the subject as well as of the benefits emanating from use of energy efficient appliances. Thus, as a consumer organisation, VBSC along with its strategic partners, would like to enhance consumer awareness and build their trust in new and affordable technologies

VGU/BET contributions to fight against COVID -19 pandemic

Bagaria Education Trust, Jaipur (BET) along with its institutes Vivekananda Global University, Vivekananda Institute of Technology, Vivekananda Institute of Technology – East & Vivek Techno School has been playing a pivotal role in the society’s fight towards COVID-19 pandemic. The Trust as part of its ongoing efforts in helping the community has pledged its support in form of:

  1. Ideation and R&D – The trust along with its Institute has been utilizing its academic knowledge & all the R&D facilities to help find all sorts of remedies to help contaminate the spread of the pandemic. Right from producing sanitizers to installing sanitizing booths, producing masks to spreading awareness, the trust has tried to give all it can to society.
  2. Infrastructure support – The Trust along with its sister concern has provided Infrastructural support in Bikaner & Jaipur as part of its fight towards the pandemic COVID-19.
  3. Helping hands – The trust has tied up with various other NGO’s like The Akshaya Patra Foundation to help serve the unprivileged. The trust has to its capacity used its kitchen & mess facility to prepare food that can be served to the needy & wage workers. The prepared food along with the essential commodities like grocery and other eatables were made available to the underprivileged & the needy with the help of other NGOs.
  4. Awareness campaign – Starting from running online social campaigns to physically reaching out to the community to spread proper awareness, the trust has involved its volunteers to run a full-fledged outreach program.
  5. Positive engagement – The saying “Charity begins at Home” is something known to everyone. But seldom is it used by many. The trust has made sure that the saying holds its value & has been involved in the positive engagement of its students and faculties involved in educational activities by means of online engagement via various tools. Right from providing online lectures to running online quizzes, the faculties have played a pivotal run in running the positive engagement of its biggest stakeholders, the students. This has even made sure that the stakeholders are safe, at home & are engaged in positive learning rather than involved in breaking lockdown or being a victim of the fake rumors on the pandemic.
