VGU  campus is providing hostel facilities to the students who join the University from different parts of the country and from overseas for pursuing their studies. The residential arrangements are separate for boys and girls. Presently there are 3 on campus  hostel Viz Singar Boys hostel, A.C Boys Hostel and Gargi Girls Hostel with a total capacity of accommodating 950 boys & 350 Girls.  The facilities we provide are guided strictly by the sense of comfort and quality life for our students.
The hostel rooms are well ventilated and adequately furnished. We provide a separate bed, a study table, chair and a wardrobe to each student.All residences have modern and well equipped kitchens and dining halls where food is cooked and served in clean and hygienic conditions. Our dining halls can serve over 500 boys and 300 girls at any given time. To ensure pest-free surroundings, pest control services are utilized. Purified cold and warm water (during winters) is provided to the students. The Weekly menu is well planned in consultation with the Students’ Mess Committee to provide variety, nutritious and wholesome food to the students.

The on campus hostel for boys, singar hostel is a well ventilated , well designed , piece of infrastructure with all types of facilities available at the doorstep. The hostel has a capacity to accommodate 450+ students . All necessary amenities such as electricity, drinking water are available 24*7. Clean and hygienic washrooms . well maintained gym area, attached balconies and many other features make this hostel one of the best hostels in the city.

Gargi Girls Hostel

Gargi Girls hostel is the hostel inside the campus especially designed for girls.With the capacity of accommodation for more then 400 girls, the hostel is fully equipped with all kinds of features and amenities a student requires . 24*7 security, and easy access to college is what makes it safe for all the girls as we all know safety is one of the biggest concerns of parents. Rooms are designed with cautions to keep full ventilation, Drinking water, tap water and electricity is available 24*7 With hygienic attached washrooms.

Boys AC Hostel

AC Hostel facility is also available for boys. This newly designed hostel is one in its class. Spacious rooms with attached washrooms and Air conditioning experience makes it a 5 star experience. The hostel has a capacity to accommodate 500+ students . All necessary amenities such as electricity, drinking water are available 24*7.

VGU  campus is providing hostel facilities to the students who join the University from different parts of the country and from overseas for pursuing their studies.

Facilities

  1. Separate hygienic mess for both boys and girls.
  2. Separate canteen facilities are available.
  3. In case of illness of the students, the doctor is available in evening hours daily. And the food is provided to students as per the instruction of medical advice.
  4. Proper housekeeping staff is assigned for the maintenance of the cleaning in hostel premises.
  5. Uninterrupted power supply, separate Generator for Students
  6. The gym facility is available for the hostellers with expert trainers.
  7. Newspapers are available in each block of the hostels.
  8. A separate automatic cloth washing machine facility is available in each block.
  9. Common rooms/ T.V Rooms with indoor games are available in each block of the hostels.
  10. Outdoor sports facilities with almost all sports are available on campus premises.
  11. RO System duly fitted with water cooler is available in each block of the hostel.
  12. Wi-Fi facility is available in each block of the hostel.
  13. All required furniture and fixtures are available in each room of the hostel.
  14. CCTVs cameras are fitted in all the important areas of each block of hostels for security purpose.
  15. A hot water facility (in winters) is available in each block of the hostel.
  16. Separate visitor rooms/Guest rooms are available in each hostel for the parents and relatives of the students.

Administrative Structure

The hostel is managed by Faculty Incharge hostels with the help of hostel staff. Faculty Incharge Hostels is the overall co-ordinator who co-ordinates between the management and hostel staff for all hostel issues.

Duties:-

  • Issue all notices regarding hostels.
  • Chair all the committee of hostel and meetings.
  • Co-ordinate with the chief warden.
  • Make all the policies with the wardens for the proper functioning of hostels.
  • Develop all suitable and needful forms and formats for the functioning of hostels, Admission, and discharge.
  • Address all the grievances of the hostel staff and represent such grievances to the authorized authorities.
  • Make all the rules and regulations with appropriate approval for implementation.
  • Take suitable and necessary action of any indiscipline act in the hostels.
  • Report all the data, policies, system of procedures, planning, etc to the management
