DR. ARCHANA SHARMA has been actively engaged in teaching, research, academic administration, and legal practice in the field of law for more than fifteen years. Her areas of specialization include Family Law, Gender Justice, Human Rights, Environmental Law, and Socio-Legal Studies, with a growing focus on environmental governance, water resource management, and sustainable development. She completed her Ph.D. in Law in 2021 on the topic “Legal Status of Restitution of Conjugal Rights in Present Scenario in India: A Socio-Legal Study”, reflecting her strong engagement with socio-legal and policy-oriented research. Presently, she is serving as Associate Professor in the Faculty of Law at Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur. Earlier, she served as Assistant Professor and Programme In-Charge of the Five-Year Law Programme at Vidyasthali Law College, Jaipur, and has also taught at reputed institutions including St. Wilfred Law College, S.S. Jain Subodh Law College and Pragya Institute of Law. In addition to her academic career, she has practiced as an Advocate at the District & Sessions Court, Jaipur for seven years, which has enriched her academic engagement with practical legal perspectives.
Her academic and research contributions are closely aligned with ICSSR’s mandate of promoting interdisciplinary and policy-oriented research. She has served as Co-Project Director of an ICSSR Sponsored Research Methodology Course (RMC), where she played a key role in designing research frameworks, training scholars, and promoting methodological rigor in social science research. She has successfully supervised five Ph.D. scholars and is currently guiding six Ph.D. scholars, contributing significantly to the development of high-quality research in law and allied disciplines. Her research work has been published in reputed Scopus indexed journals, Springer Nature publications, and UGC CARE listed journals, addressing contemporary issues such as environmental protection, governance of natural resources, GST and digital economy, gender justice, and emerging technological challenges.
Dr. Sharma has demonstrated strong academic leadership through her active involvement in organizing and coordinating national and international seminars, conferences, and faculty development programmes, particularly those focusing on emerging socio-legal and policy issues. She has experience in managing ICSSR-related academic activities, coordinating with experts, academicians, and policymakers, and ensuring quality research output through publication-oriented events. Her administrative roles include Coordinator of Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), Moot Court Coordinator, Legal Aid Coordinator, and Media Coordinator for major academic events, and she also serves as a reviewer for a Springer journal and editorial board member of ISSN-listed journals.
