The Centre for Internal Quality Assurance (CIQA) at Vivekananda Global University is an essential statutory body constituted as per the guidelines of UGC (Open and Distance Learning Programmes and Online Programmes) Regulations, 2020. CIQA serves as the quality backbone of all Online and Open & Distance Learning (ODL) programs offered by the University, ensuring that every aspect of academic and administrative delivery meets national benchmarks of excellence.
Functioning as an autonomous unit within the university's quality assurance ecosystem, the CIQA Office is responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive policies, quality frameworks, and standard operating procedures that uphold academic integrity, learner satisfaction, faculty effectiveness, and institutional accountability.
The Office regularly monitors, evaluates, and reports on program outcomes, learner feedback, course design, teaching practices, and assessment protocols. It also facilitates periodic academic audits, prepares the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR), and advises on the continuous improvement of learning outcomes and digital infrastructure.
CIQA ensures that all distance and online learning initiatives are rooted in transparency, affordability, flexibility, and quality. It serves as a strategic pillar in VGU's mission to deliver accessible, outcome-based education that meets the evolving demands of learners and industry alike.
The objective of the Centre for Internal Quality Assurance is to develop and put in place a comprehensive and dynamic internal quality assurance system to ensure that programmes in the Open and Distance Learning mode and Online mode being implemented by the University are of acceptable quality and further improved on a continuous basis.
The functions of the Centre for Internal Quality Assurance include the following:
