Established in 2018-19, IIC-VGU is the backbone of innovation culture at VGU.

Institution's Innovation Council (IIC-VGU) was established in 2018-19 in alignment with the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell to systematically foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across the university. IIC-VGU acts as the central driving force for nurturing ideas, supporting early-stage innovation, and converting academic knowledge into entrepreneurial outcomes. Working closely with VGU's three incubation centres, the council supports 800+ unique ideas and facilitates more than 170 innovation and entrepreneurial activities annually, including hackathons, ideathons, boot camps, start-up showcases, mentoring sessions, faculty development programs, and industry interactions.

With a strong network of trained faculty innovation ambassadors, experienced mentors, academic and corporate partners, IIC-VGU actively engages students, faculty, staff, and alumni, making innovation an integral part of teaching, learning, and research at the university. The council's consistent performance has earned national recognition, with top ARIIA rankings and high IIC star ratings awarded by the Ministry of Education.
