Dr. Vikas Rana is an Associate Professor of Hotel Management at Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur, with over 15 years of academic and industry experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Tourism and Hospitality and possesses a strong academic background, including an M.Sc. in Hotel Management, an MBA in Hospitality & Tourism Management, a B.Sc. in Hotel Management, a B.A., and a Diploma in Food Production, reflecting a comprehensive foundation in both theory and practice he developed expertise in culinary innovation, hospitality operations, and the application of Artificial Intelligence in hospitality management. His teaching integrates practical industry exposure with modern academic approaches, benefiting both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Dr. Rana has made significant contributions to research, with 11 journal publications, 2 authored books, and 8 book chapters to his credit. His research primarily focuses on sustainable hospitality practices, traditional Indian cuisine, food tourism, and technology-driven solutions in the hospitality sector. His recent work emphasizes AI-enabled systems, green hospitality, and the revival of regional culinary heritage. he has filed 3 patents focusing on AI-based innovations in hotel and food service operations. Dr. Rana has actively participated in 10 national and international conferences, contributing to academic discourse and knowledge exchange. Additionally, he has attended 11 Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) and workshops and has also organized 1 FDP, demonstrating his commitment to continuous learning and academic leadership. Beyond research and training, he has guided more than 50 student projects, organized 7 food festivals, and undertaken various academic and administrative roles such as placement coordination and discipline management, reflecting his holistic contribution to hospitality education.
