Bio

Dr. Yasir Ahmed is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Vivekananda Global University (VGU), Jaipur, Rajasthan. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and Multimedia Production from the University of Kashmir (First Division, 1,299/1,850), followed by his Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from Chandigarh University, Mohali (CGPA: 6.71).

Dr. Ahmed completed his Ph.D. in Journalism and Mass Communication from Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, India (Awarded: 30 September 2025), with a dissertation titled "Post-Truth and Its Effects on Public Perception of Political Information and the Role of Media: An Empirical Study Using Selective Exposure Theory," supervised by Dr. Jitendra Singh.

He has published peer-reviewed articles in journals including the International Journal of Applied Psychoanalytic Studies (Scopus), Journal of Neonatal Surgery, Library Progress (International), and others. He has contributed Scopus-indexed book chapters to IGI Global edited volumes on AI, digital media, higher education, and journalism. He has presented research at national and international conferences and seminars, including at LUMS and GJUS&T Hisar. His research interests span post-truth, misinformation, political communication, selective exposure, AI in journalism, gender studies, and digital discourse. Dr. Ahmed brings professional newsroom experience from The Indian Express and regional publications to his academic work.
